Vintage Aprons!

I don't know what it is about an apron that I love...the full form fitted aprons, the half aprons, the mini "apron" belts. I love them all. I think it's because it's almost like playing dress up and they are so functional it just makes them that much more loveable!

Here are some of our new ones I'm drooling over~

When I was trying them on the mannequin ("Josephine") I almost became a little jealous but that's not weird at all right??

Coming to the Shop~ Vintage by Nina Books!

I was so excited yesterday to get my store copy of Vintage by Nina in the mail!! We ordered copies for the shop which are in the process of being translated in English now and will be available in mid-Septemeber so in the mean time we received the international version and the pics...oh man the pics are just gorgeous and slightly magical. Everything is in these wonderful shades of greys and whites and some blues and you really don't even have to be able to read it to appreciate what a fantastic designer Nina Hartman is....let me share~
You have probably seen this rolling around the internet but let me share some new pics I came across that I hadn't recently seen of her home and shop~

This is Nina's actual home~

I love this pic! There are several pages in the book of vintage circus and clown costumes hung with old ballet slippers...I have such a thing for anything vintage circus~

Do you see the tiny little birdcage?
too cute!
No a few pages from the actual book~

Wonderful huh? It's jam packed with pics like these, literally every page of wonderfully yummy pictures!

Concrete Bee Skeps & Books & Crowns Oh My!

I know it's been forever but I promise I have an excuse! We did Scott's Antique Market a little over a week ago and I stumbled upon the most fantastical concrete ever, yup ever! But before I could get it on the blog I had LASIK....I'm no drama queen but I'm fairly certain that my eyes were burned out of my head....there were about 5 hours where I lost time! So that was Friday and my vision is recovering and it's still pretty blurry (ironic huh?) So I've got my face smushed to the computer screen in an effort to share some of these amazing finds that will work their way on Etsy in the coming days!

These Bee Skeps are unbelievable, they are molded after an antique English Bee Skep that had crusted mud and straw still on it which gives this one so much detail! It really doesn't even look concrete~

These book are also molded after old books and come in several sizes but are perfect for leaving in the garden or outside since they can't be damaged!

Jumping Rabbit Stake...this is the small one but my favorite....
The large much character!

French Tom Pot

Bird's Nest...can't you just see them with moss in them or candles for a centerpiece on a table?

Flaming Hearts with holes so they can be hooked. These will probably make their way on to a sign because they are the perfect size for such a thing!

In the midst of not being able to see I did decide it was a good time to start sewing some new patterns for burlap bins, aprons and garden belts...makes perfect sense right??

Beautiful Birdcages

Ever since I was little my Mom has "oohed" and "aaahhed" over birdcages...crusty metal ones, old wooden ones and even many of the chicken coop variety. I don't know what it is about them but they are just "born" beautiful. When we did Scott's last week we had quite a few we took and sadly (or happily) there is only one lone one left so I was browsing thru some sites today and ran across some outright gorgeous cages that are really just mini works of art~ Enoy!

If this were big enough I would live in it :)

Can you imagine having this on your patio??

This is an idea I will be copying....

I would love to run across this in person! How perfectly wonderful to have on your apartment!

This whole vignette is just magical. I would take it all...even thee feather duster :)
