Round Top Texas Dirt

If you've been following us on Facebook you are very well aware that we are in Round Top Texas at their Fall Antique Show! I thought while I had a moment I would update everyone and share some pics in case you haven't seen what's going on, on our Facebook page.

We began our journey over a week ago making the trek from GA all the way across I-10 to Round Top with a full trailer, my parents, my sister, my 2 yr old and 2 dogs...yes we are quite the road crew!

One of our very first stops was at the infamous Royers Cafe where we nabbed a Lemon Coconut Pie to take back to the room. Suffice it to say their food is rocking and their Chicken Salad will hurt your feelings its so good.

We set up our booth in a whirlwind and this is the initial set up....that changed only 18 times since and looks nothing like it does now!

This is Antiquing Barbies Dream House complete with Wallpaper and not just 1 but 2 staircases!

Every story you've ever heard about miles of tents and junk is true. There are vendors and people everywhere and tomorrow night in our field (Zapp Hall) is the Junk Gypsy Prom so I will be sure to take pics for everyone.  There's so much more to share but I wanted to say a quick hello during the show and will update you with all the goodies and details later~ Night Everyone!



Tennessee Junkin

Last weeked in typical Robinson fashion we decided on a whim to take pack up and head about 2 hours on the other side of Nashville to basically fill a trailer with metal and industrial goodies. Man...was it fun! As luck would have it, it was also the Nashville Flea Market weekend so on our way to pickin heaven we stopped in for some shopping~

The Nashville Flea Market had some pretty good finds and has quite a few building and covered tents so I was in pure junk heaven!

I tried to contain my excitement over this booth of vintage Halloween Decorations...but I didn't succeed. I love each little pumpkin~

I thought these were garden tools...apparently they are Froggin Gigs....

On our way out of Nashville we stopped over at American Pickers...unfortunately it was raining so the treck across the street resulted in an angry 2 yr old and a broken flip flip :)

From here we moved on to the barn I was picking out of and apparently I forgot to brief my husband abou the required uniform for this pic....due to the forewarned chigges I was told to wear boots and pants....except I never told my husband so all he had were shorts and flip flops...My Bad!

London Markets

I basically spent the majority of my trip hunting junk even though "technically" I was there to visit a friend. Thank heavens my friend loves the hunt as much as I do because we made it to around 4 different markets and it's exhausting hauling around treasures all day long! I did want to share some pics and the markets I went to in case anyone is planning a trip or vacation and wants a couple easy markets to get to.

One of the first markets I found (by accident) turned out to be one of the best. We were over at Spitalfield Market and there are 2 sections. The first section has clothes and jewelry and typical street fair type merchandise but the second side has some great antiques and is under a covered awning which is perfect for London's tempermental weather.

In the left hand corner there are some hand thrown Victorian Clay pots....

From what I can gather this market is open Tues-Fri and again on Sunday and is well worth the short Tube ride over. There is also plenty of eating and other shoping the area if you run out of junk to buy!

So this little lovely of a market is a short walk from the Wimbledon Park Tube stop and is a cross between a  huge yard sale and a flea market. Some booths are just junk (of the bad variety) but there are plenty that are Junk (of the "I hear angels singing" variety).

Basically it's what's called a Car Boot Sale (hence all the cars) so everyone pulls their car into their space and sells stuff out of the back. It was one of my favorite markets, the pictures can't do it justice, because the prices are much cheaper and you never know what someone has brought out of ther barn or home to sell for the day.

I'm fairly certain bicycles don't get much prettier (under all that dirt!) Leather seats and Beautiful colors!

I did get quite a few things at this market including 2 Leather Cases, Metal Childrens Animals, Ivory (?) Dominoes and old Leather Shin Guards and a Leather Measuring Tape.

The last market I found was the Monday Antique Market at Covent Gardens and there was just as much treasure there as everywhere else~

Vintage Salt and Pepper Shakers

The other weekend my husband took me to Orlando for a concert I was dying to go to and we ran across a Flea Market close to St Augustine which I had seen but never stopped at before. I was kind of concerned that it would be more of "dollar store" type stalls but suprising there was actually some good stuff!

One of the best booths was full of vintage Salt & Pepper shakers stamped with "JAPAN" on the bottom...needless to say my skills in buying in bulk came into play and I got more than one set....

This little sweetheart is what originally caught my eye but was missing it's pair which is sad but I'm in love with her!

The Flea Market was somewhat indoors and the temperature outside was hovering around 100 degrees which is bad enough without being enclosed in a metal building with no ventilation! By the end of the trip I was a disaster but in heaven~ as always when it comes to junking~

We are planning on hitting up the Goodwill and some other junk stores down in Destin this weekend so hopefully my friend won't kill me...she's not super into junking and I had to explain we are looking for treasure and vintage goodies at the junk stores...not used underwear!

Flea Market Heaven

This weekend I was so excited to go junking at Mt Dora's Flea Market! Three times a year they have a giant Extravaganza that you really need all 3 days to get thru but we decided to hustle thru in one day. The weather was pefect around 70 degrees (did I mention I LOVE living in the South!) and even on the second day of the market there were so many goodies and deals that I feel like it was such a blur of excitement I can't remember everthing! I wanted to share a few finds and projects I found...

I almost hypervenilated over these "circus" letters...can you believe there were so many?

When I got them home I laid them out to clean them and my little 2yr old  "factory worker" got busy organizing :)

 One of the main reasons we went is because we bought a Historic home in Downtown St Marys (GA) last summer and we have a wonderful formal living room that sits at the front of the house and are in the process of opening a shop in it so this was a great first buying trip to get the shop stocked but some of the finds I will be putting on Etsy too.

I have to put seats back in but I'm thinking covered with grainsacks or burlap...
