Ma Maison Garland

I worked on a couple of gardlands in the past few days and this by far is my favorite...I find an excuse to walk by it every time I'm in the room just so I can see it again. Don't mind the blank wall...it's actually hanging over a window that was sheetrocked over by the last owners and is going to be re-opened soon so I can't hang anything heavy there since it would go straight thru :)

Most of it was different recycled wrapping or papers but I love making them and putting it all together. We are doing 2 more shows in April (The Fancy Flea in Lakeland, FL and then The Shrimp Festival in Fernandina Beach, FL) so I'm getting everything ready and creating piles of stuff! I love it!!

This is one more I made orginally for my craft room...

Next on the list is a Marie Antoinette one and a Cupcake one.

Ideas for a Craft Room

This adventure in opening a shop on top of a way too much everyday work (real estate) has my plate so full that my house has kind of exploded into a storage unit in the hallways...doorways...corners...virtually everywhere something can be moved or stored until I can get to it. So this weekend I have gathered just enough energy to work on my spare bedroom which is going to be my craft room.

I've always wanted a craft room in pale pastels because the colors just make me wanna stay and create for hours on end. Kind of a cross between a craft room and a vintage postcard style candy shop...full of pale colors, a little sugary and above all else CALM!

Finding the right pieces is a bit trickier because I can't force myself to buy anything new and convenient...even though it may make life easier it just goes against my grain. I do have some wonderful large vintage Ball jars I'm going to use for the smaller items and a great cupboard I got this past week so I'm hoping it at least helps with the storage situation that's happening.

TJ Maxx has some of those wonderful candy style apothecary jars which I'm going to pick up for ribbons...and I do have that little wheel basket which I may relocate to that room too :)

The idea of finally having my craft room had me so happy I swear I spent an hour just re-arranging a garland and an entire morning sorting sticker and paper crafts.

The Mushroom Factory

I have become slightly obsessed with glitter this weekend...it all started with Pinterest (of course!) but have had a blast gluing and glittering to my heart's content in the past few days. I found these wonderful mushrooms forms and began "growing" them in my little Mushroom Factory in the Dining Room and I love each one so much that I wanted to take you on a tour of the factory!

This is the factory where Glitter Mushrooms are grown in little French Terracotta Pots on a sweet bed of moss! There is soo much glitter everywhere that I 'm pretty sure it got in our food last night...but I'm not going to bring that up at my house! I wish I had more forms since they just look so sweet.

And finally... the Harvest! I want to use them in a cloche or terrarium but have to find some beautiful things to surround them with...maybe some fern...moss and a little succulent.
