Show Girl

Summer is a bit of a Bermuda Triangle for shows...Kind of hit and miss...Spread Out...Nothing Major but good for catching up and planning for the Fall Shows...Which I am SUPER excited about! There are some really great shows we get to be a part of this year and I've been running thru booth ideas and wanted to share some of the inspiration~

I'm thinking of going with a more pale...shimmery...frosty...forest...fall type of feel...basically a magical fall forest of muted neutrals and earthy elements!

I love these interiors that are a combination of mainly neutrals with some dark tones and garden outdoor type elements which make them a bit more "homey".

It's funny how you can find a booth design idea in the smallest most random element....sparkly chandeliers...collections of plates... a nice curve on a chair~

And a Splash of the perfect Watermelon Pink and French Teal to make it fun.

Christmas at the Shop

Hands down the busiest time of year...ever! We have had 2 Open Houses and 2 Shows already in the past couple of weeks on top of getting ready for St Mary's Downtown Tour of Homes which is this Saturday (Dec 8th).  The shop is looking pretty Merry though and I wanted to share some pics for the loyal followers (who still hang in there as MIA as I have been!)

We have a thing for Glittered Nutcrackers and Santas this year...half of them are named "Sugar Britches"~

Alot of Mercury and Champagne Colors-~

I'm going to hate when Christmas is over and all this wonderfull fat mercury glitter is gone!

Isn't this so sweet?? Little Bird in a Christmas Vignette. We are prepping for the Tour of Homes this Sat as well as the first Mt Dora, FL Vintage Christmas Show so if you're in either area please stop in and say Hi!

The Prairie and Rachel Ashwell

It's hard to believe I've been gone for almost 3 weeks between Round Top and then the market in Atlanta but it sure is good to be home. I took a bunch of pics of Round Top that I want to share but thought I would share something juicy first! While we were in Texas I made friends with a wonderful vendor who's sarcasm is as on point as her beautiful style. Needless to say she was a hoot to be around and invited me to go with her to Rachel Ashwell's The Prairie for a book signing for her new book and her feature in Where Women Create.....Kill me now what a dream!

I tried to take as many pics as possible to share but I will warn...they are not super great since I didn't want to look like a loser taking pics of everything! This is one of her beautiful outbuildings surrounded by flowers that basically smelled like heaven. The smell of flowers was so strong I basically thought it was fake :)

Not sure what treasure was hidden behind those doors...but I can only imagine~

Killer chair huh? The doll I went to the party with sold it to Rachel...she has phenomenal taste! Trust me her booth was just as good!

The only downside was I couldn't bring my mom...I felt like a dirty rotten traitor!

On the property is also the shop which was packed to the rafters and filled with treasures~

If you're nosy like me you would want to know that some of this was picked while the show was going on in Round Top and Warrenton and several days she was walking around shopping...just like us mere design mortals :)

Lovely...so lovely!

I cannot wait until the next show...hopefully there will be another event at The Prairie!

The Party Pics

Thank you everyone who came to the Preview Party last week! It was such a great turnout and fun to boot! For those of you who couldn't stop by for a visit I wanted to share some pics~

So we thew this party and basically packe up in our trailer and left for Round Top the next day! It was a lot!! But we are here in Texas and updating our Facebook with the wonderful booths during the day and having a blast so please follow us on Facebook if you can!

Coming to the Shop~ Vintage by Nina Books!

I was so excited yesterday to get my store copy of Vintage by Nina in the mail!! We ordered copies for the shop which are in the process of being translated in English now and will be available in mid-Septemeber so in the mean time we received the international version and the pics...oh man the pics are just gorgeous and slightly magical. Everything is in these wonderful shades of greys and whites and some blues and you really don't even have to be able to read it to appreciate what a fantastic designer Nina Hartman is....let me share~

I love this pic! There are several pages in the book of vintage circus and clown costumes hung with old ballet slippers...I have such a thing for anything vintage circus~

Ideas for a Craft Room

This adventure in opening a shop on top of a way too much everyday work (real estate) has my plate so full that my house has kind of exploded into a storage unit in the hallways...doorways...corners...virtually everywhere something can be moved or stored until I can get to it. So this weekend I have gathered just enough energy to work on my spare bedroom which is going to be my craft room.

I've always wanted a craft room in pale pastels because the colors just make me wanna stay and create for hours on end. Kind of a cross between a craft room and a vintage postcard style candy shop...full of pale colors, a little sugary and above all else CALM!

Finding the right pieces is a bit trickier because I can't force myself to buy anything new and convenient...even though it may make life easier it just goes against my grain. I do have some wonderful large vintage Ball jars I'm going to use for the smaller items and a great cupboard I got this past week so I'm hoping it at least helps with the storage situation that's happening.

TJ Maxx has some of those wonderful candy style apothecary jars which I'm going to pick up for ribbons...and I do have that little wheel basket which I may relocate to that room too :)

The idea of finally having my craft room had me so happy I swear I spent an hour just re-arranging a garland and an entire morning sorting sticker and paper crafts.

I will share pics once it's done! I can't wait!
