Concrete Bee Skeps & Books & Crowns Oh My!

I know it's been forever but I promise I have an excuse! We did Scott's Antique Market a little over a week ago and I stumbled upon the most fantastical concrete ever, yup ever! But before I could get it on the blog I had LASIK....I'm no drama queen but I'm fairly certain that my eyes were burned out of my head....there were about 5 hours where I lost time! So that was Friday and my vision is recovering and it's still pretty blurry (ironic huh?) So I've got my face smushed to the computer screen in an effort to share some of these amazing finds that will work their way on Etsy in the coming days!

These Bee Skeps are unbelievable, they are molded after an antique English Bee Skep that had crusted mud and straw still on it which gives this one so much detail! It really doesn't even look concrete~

These book are also molded after old books and come in several sizes but are perfect for leaving in the garden or outside since they can't be damaged!

Jumping Rabbit Stake...this is the small one but my favorite....

Bird's Nest...can't you just see them with moss in them or candles for a centerpiece on a table?

Flaming Hearts with holes so they can be hooked. These will probably make their way on to a sign because they are the perfect size for such a thing!

In the midst of not being able to see I did decide it was a good time to start sewing some new patterns for burlap bins, aprons and garden belts...makes perfect sense right??

Nautical Saturday

I was so determined yesterday to make it to the pool with Oliver...it's a summer ritual since I was a kid growing up in Alabama  to spend every waking moment of the summer by the pool or ocean or creek....whatever water I can find. So I was so excited as I was laid out by the pool soaking up some skin cancer to see this nautical house built from a ship (yes a ship!) in Country Living~ I heard those dang angels again!~  This house literally spoke to my heart.... and it said.... please come live here and NEVER leave!

Let's not waste any time, I will just start out with my favorite pic!

The crunchy fabric on the chair and the canvas flask type thing behind it...the wire baskets, the ship, the oils....Le Sigh

I love how light and white it is....I would probably be scared to do it with a 2 yr old but I feel a new wind a blowing in my house....greys & whites....

I hope everyone has great plans for this holiday weekend and it doesn't rain long enough to spend some time at the pool ! Before the weekend begins I just want to share some of the goodies I have on Etsy~

I had never seen these before until I actually found them and even then was a little confused as to what they were but they are Vintage Copper Doll Heads that came out of a factory in NY about 30 yrs or so ago when the factory was shut down. All three are different but have all the details still there including strands of hair and little ears...so neat!

From 4 Barns to a Dream Home

Don't you just love a good Architectural Salvage Story? I thought this one featured in Elle Decor was a great example of not rushing thru a restoration but actually taking the time to make it right for the home so it looked like it had always been that way. The owners Andrea Filippone & William Welch actually took 4 barns and turned them into one major home with 11,000 sqft of work and living space....take a gander~

down to the plaster~

This my friends is a room where I'm fairly certain magic is made...The columns, the winged victory, busts,

architectural salvage, chandelier...Yup Happiness & Magic all in the same room~

Off to the Fancy Flea Market!

We are up and packing the truck and heading out this afternoon! We have so many new things and are really excited to have a booth and also see all the other booths. We are Vendor #176 and are located on

Shop Open. Check.

I'm so excited to finally say the shop is all put together and ready for people! It really turned out so much better than I anticapated and is definitely my favorite room in the house! I live in Downtown St Marys in the Historic District so we fortunately have the space to have a shop in our home right on the main street. I wanted to share some pics to entice you all to take a trip to visit :)

Notice the Industrial Rack from the other post??  I'm in love with it!

My new favorite idea is this chicken coop on the wall, I also have one in my workshop so I can store all my supplies and it so unbelievably handy for keeping stuff sorted and out of my way!

Those wonderful baskets are actually English, one is an old mail basket for the railroad and the other is a linen basket for like a hotel...LOVE

Flowers

This coming week is going to be so busy with the market show on Friday that my husband and I are actually going out for Valentines tomorrow night and to a movie by ourselves which is a miracle in an of itself since we travel with a heard of people all the time. I've been working to get everything ready so I'm more than happy that he has planned everything so I don't have to think about anything else! Between Valentines and Easter bouquets are everywhere, which is mighty fine by me!
