Round Top Time Again!

It seems like I literally just left Round Top....in a sweaty worn out ball of antiquing glory! The Fall show was just a killer in terms of weather last time but the Spring show is just always so beautiful and warm and even tho it feels like I just re-couped (yeah right!) I'm ready to go again! And the absolute best part is that 2 of the loveliest gals are building their dream field from their pretty 8 acre ground up!
https://www.facebook.com/theroundtoprendezvous

It's located between Marburger Farms and Zapp Hall so while you're out making the rounds you won't miss it!
Their while concept is to create this amazing venue that you and your friends will want to "Rendezvous" at each year to see all the incredible vendors/artists and displays that Texas Antique Week has come to be known for.

We've started building our setup and I'm thinking we are headed towards a French Storefront setup. Lots of work to do and parts to hunt down in the next few weeks but hey, WHO NEEDS SLEEP? I will sleep after Texas! Be sure to hop over to their page and check out the amazing vendors we are lucky enough to set up with and the beautiful going-ons!

Show Girl

Summer is a bit of a Bermuda Triangle for shows...Kind of hit and miss...Spread Out...Nothing Major but good for catching up and planning for the Fall Shows...Which I am SUPER excited about! There are some really great shows we get to be a part of this year and I've been running thru booth ideas and wanted to share some of the inspiration~

I'm thinking of going with a more pale...shimmery...frosty...forest...fall type of feel...basically a magical fall forest of muted neutrals and earthy elements!

I love these interiors that are a combination of mainly neutrals with some dark tones and garden outdoor type elements which make them a bit more "homey".

It's funny how you can find a booth design idea in the smallest most random element....sparkly chandeliers...collections of plates... a nice curve on a chair~

The Scallop on a Table~

Aren't those windows amazing?? and that Chair?

Basically everything about this makes me SWOON~
And a Splash of the perfect Watermelon Pink and French Teal to make it fun.

Can't wait for the Shows!!

Threads by The Dove Cote

THREADS by The Dove Cote

It's been a lot of fun working on our new project which is an expansion of the shop with clothing, more jewelry and Havaiana Sandals! We've added a lot of fun new clothing along with altered clothing which is such a fun way to expand our talents. I've always loved the way clothes can change your day but the problem has  been that I never quite found what I wanted....Not sure why it took so long to realize I just need to make it myself! But man is it fun!

Tour of Home St Marys

Last weekend was the Downtown St Marys Tour of Homes and we were lucky enough to be asked to be on it so I wanted to share some pics we took that night of what went down in the way of Christmas decorating. Our shop is run out of our home which is a Historic Home Downtown called the Rudulph House (Christmas Appropriate Huh?). It was built around 1876 per the plaque but I really think it's probably earlier and around The Civil War Era from some history we've dug up.

This was the last official event this month so I'm happy to have it over and have been so successful!
There were around 200 people that came thru our home and shop which was wonderful.

Clawfoot Tub of Christmas Balls~

My little Goat Wagon with a Christmas Vignette of vintage frames and mercury trees~

If you look close b/w the windows there's a glittered stag head...he may stay up all yr!

Blessed Mother Vignette by the Front Windows~

Sorry they turned out so grainy! I think the overload of Christmas lights that were on didn't help!
Such a great night and lots of Goodies in the Store!

"Faux"-Lix

I feel like I came to the party a bit late when it comes to Tolix...you know...those beautiful simple French Cafe chairs that will cost you a mortgage payment but make your patio...kitchen table or balcony look tres tres chic??? I had to do ome research to find out what the bloggers were talking about and turns out I've seen the chair but had no idea what they were called. In case you are like me here's what the vintage look like~

via Google

via Atelier de Campagne

Aren't they just beautiful? They come in a rainbow of colors and there's just something about them that is wonderful...I can' put my finger on it because it really falls outside of my normal range of things I vear towards but let's just say last wk I found these "Faux"-Lix cafe chairs and danced thru the parking lot while unicorns ran by and rainbows appeared, birds sang and well ...ok none of that happened except in my head!
Just take a gander....
Red is SOOO not my color but I feel like these 2 beauties are my children...yes I'm that much in love. I have not decided if I'm taking them to the Fancy Flea or not...decisions, decisions.

I really racked up this week with finds to a total of 3 trailer loads full so I have a MOUNTAIN of work to do in the next 2 weeks. Here's a few of the small things I found too but I promise there are piles more :)

These bad mamba jambas are about 4-5 inches long and I think Brass

French Mustard Jars that just got here in the mail today after their long journey overseas

This preciousness is about 2ft tall and has a chain to hang by. My thought was that it would be an awesome light fixture with a vintage bulb dropped thru the center. I have a matching one a little smaller too. If you don't hear from me don't worry...I only have a lifetime of painting ahead of me in the next 2 weeks :)

Shop Open. Check.

I'm so excited to finally say the shop is all put together and ready for people! It really turned out so much better than I anticapated and is definitely my favorite room in the house! I live in Downtown St Marys in the Historic District so we fortunately have the space to have a shop in our home right on the main street. I wanted to share some pics to entice you all to take a trip to visit :)

Notice the Industrial Rack from the other post??  I'm in love with it!

My new favorite idea is this chicken coop on the wall, I also have one in my workshop so I can store all my supplies and it so unbelievably handy for keeping stuff sorted and out of my way!

Those wonderful baskets are actually English, one is an old mail basket for the railroad and the other is a linen basket for like a hotel...LOVE

We would love for you to stop if you are in the area!
Right now we are open by appointment (912)227-0319 Aspen
or (912)227-0597 Carol
but will post regular shop hours shortly so please feel free to give us a call if you want to come in.
Hope to See You Soon!
