Getting Ready for Shows

In my every day life I'm a real estate agent and work mainly with foreclosing banks so as you can imagine...there's alot of work and plenty of properties in this wonderful economy :) But busy as that is I don't think I've ever enjoyed anything as much as getting my Shop up and open, going to Flea Markets and making anything and everything I think of even tho I occassionally forget that blogland exists...

a few of the things headed to the Fancy Flea and Shrimp Festival (Fernandina Beach, FL)

Peat Cups Embellished with Glitter & Vintage Music Note Banners...for placecards or just decoration
Love the Garden Buckets with Burlap Stamps

This is just wonderful~ the guy I got this bread board from bought it north of Paris and said it was so covered in dirt he couldn't even tell it had a stamp until he cleaned and oiled it.

Close up of the stamp

Little Mini Maison in French Grey

English Marmalade Jars

I  also have a a lot of furniture in the works and multiple sofas, a pretty French rocking chair, table and side table that I hope to have done in the next couple weeks. We are also getting in Wicker Rolling Market Basket (see below) which I can't believe we found. They are so amazing for Flea Markets and so much cuter than regular wire market baskets.

If you are interested in anything please feel free to let me know and hopefully it won't be another whole week before I can catch a chance to update.
Have a great week!

Up to No Good

This is the week I'm determined to get the shop painted and arranged so I can get this house under control! I've almost got it done thanks to my fabulous mom and sister helping me cover the horrible mustard walls with a beautiful Robin's Egg Blue. That being said I keep meaning to take pics of the new things for Etsy...the wonderful French Bread Board...Marmalade Jars from England...and other wonderful little pretties but have not had a moment to think let alone stage some photos. So instead I wanted to share a few pretty pics until I can get my own photos taken.

I would stay in this kitchen all day and wear a girly fifties apron...

I would invite you over to enjoy the Garden....

And Walk thru the Lavender...
Or Ride thru the Lavender...
and we can have our own club and this would be our motto....
I'm sure you agree :)

My Home

I had to take pics of my stuff for a show application today so I thought I would share a few pics of my home today. They are still a work in progress but I just redid a few of the pieces and love the new paint and colors.

This is in my living Room~ I just repainted the little desk and got the little house from my Mom and the little metal chair is actually going to the next show we do (Fancy Flea in Lakeland, FL)

I love this rack that's in my Dining Room. It sits over a great table but it was not in any condition to be photographed today! I'm still working on what I put on the shelves but I love the little Austrian Saint on the right side above the sweet French Mary.
I tried and tried to get a better pic but the sun kept bleaching out the side of the photo so this is the best I could do! This is my newest dining room addition and it is so wonderful in person. I'm off to go paint more furniture and prepare for upcoming shows and getting the shop ready to open :)
Have a wonderful night.

Scott's Antique Market....Better Than Expected

This weekend we packed up and headed to Atlanta to test out Scott's Antique Market and see if it was any good. The reviews online are not so great...at all. In fact I have been avoiding Scott's because everyone says it's so expensive that it's not worth it the drive but I was bored and thought I would give it a go! I think I was probably the first buyer to show up that morning so it was great to look at all the booths without a crowd....and boy did they have some BEAUTIFUL stuff. We're talking the type of furniture I thought only existed in blogland...furniture that you feel it necessary to pet to make sure it's real.

The $12k "Birdhouse" with Metal Legs...To Die For

We started in the North Building and gaped and gaped and I will be honest, I had sticker shock. More like I went into a price coma. The furniture was amazing but the prices were not meant for shop owners or people (like me) who want to buy furniture and make it into something better. I was starting to get a little sick that I had driven so far and the reviews had turned out to be true...but...
then I ran into a vendor we had seen at Mt Dora last month and started talking to her and she gave me the rundown for making the show a big success. Apparently I was on the wrong side of the show! I felt very stupid needless to say but the North Building was gorgeous but the real junking was to be had on the SOUTH side! That's where the outdoor market and deals are to be had. The funny thing is you can't even see it from the first building. I hightailed my butt over there and the fun began!!

The Outdoor area had some great vendors especially if you are looking for architectural pieces or metal items. On the far side is a permanent vendor with a warehouse full of stuff you literally have to dig thru. I found an old canvas linen cart which I almost hypervenilated over and this awesome metal rack to use for display in my shop~

Vintage Metal Vent

This little lovely French Queen Bust went home with me...I haven't decided if I'm going to put her in the shop or keep her~
So to sum it all up if you are plannign a trip...hit the South Expo Center and outdoor market first. You will surely find something great and then if you have some time left I would suggest the North Expo Center to look at items or if you just want to purchase pieces that need no work, but one last word of caution. The vendors on the North side don't feel it necessary to show up when the event starts and it can be very frustrating to find prices because nothing is marked. However you may decide you prefer the South Expo Center much better and just not leave! I did get many goodies for the store that I will share later once I unpack. Have a great evening!

Paris Couture Antiques

If you have a moment today stop by and see Paris Couture Antiques on Etsy...their stuff is beyond gorgeous. They have some of the most interesting and beautiful antiques I've seen in awhile.
To wet your appetitie....

(There are enough crowns to dress the Royal Family!)

These were just a few of the almost 1,300 items she has for sale! I swear if I lived close to this wonderful shop owner I would force her to be my best friend :) Her entire store is like looking a beautiful museum.

Ma Maison Garland

I worked on a couple of gardlands in the past few days and this by far is my favorite...I find an excuse to walk by it every time I'm in the room just so I can see it again. Don't mind the blank wall...it's actually hanging over a window that was sheetrocked over by the last owners and is going to be re-opened soon so I can't hang anything heavy there since it would go straight thru :)

Most of it was different recycled wrapping or papers but I love making them and putting it all together. We are doing 2 more shows in April (The Fancy Flea in Lakeland, FL and then The Shrimp Festival in Fernandina Beach, FL) so I'm getting everything ready and creating piles of stuff! I love it!!

This is one more I made orginally for my craft room...

Next on the list is a Marie Antoinette one and a Cupcake one.
Have a great day!
